Baisao
Poems by Baisao
Poems by Baisao is a letterpress book featuring six poems on tea, nature, and simplicity by Baisao (1675–1763), known as the Old Tea Seller, a former Zen monk who lived and sold tea on the streets of Kyoto.
The poems offer a glimpse into Japanese tea culture, the world of sencha (green tea), and 18th-century Kyoto, where places such as Sanjusangendo Temple and Tofuku Temple appear in Baisao’s poetry.
A slim volume with a minimal aesthetic, limited to 1,000 copies and letterpress printed on bamboo paper with a soft cover. 32 pages. 5 × 8 in (130 × 210 mm). A thoughtful book for those drawn to Kyoto, curious about the history and culture of Japanese tea, and open to discovering how a simple cup of tea can hold something more.

Anarchist Hostilities to Green Capitalism Volume 1
This small collection is about those who have identified the problem of green capitalism, their technologies and took action against them. Reminding the world what hostility looks like, this collection, spanning the territories occupied by Germany, Sweden, Italy, Chile and the United States, is far from complete (hence “Volume 1”), and only represents a sample of actions and analysis taken by anarchists and autonomists. These texts reproduced inside demonstrate the refusal of green capitalism, but also the popular political division between fossil fuels and so-called renewable energy nurtured by politicians, company public relations and theorists of the narrow minded “fossil capital.”
This collection is a joint publishing venture between Active Distribution and Rupture Press.

Can Degrowth Struggle? Anarchist Engagement with Degrowth
Over the last two decades the degrowth movement has made an impressive come-back. By challenging the hegemonic formulations of neoliberal economic policy – which is still, somehow, being taught in universities and earning people Nobel prices – degrowth has managed to attack the established economic thinking by demanding greater scholarly rigor and questioning the subsumption of everything into the economy. Degrowth rattles the logics of scarcity and substitutability that is foundational to economic thought. This is the first of a new joint venture into publishing between Active and Rupture Press.
– a small collection of essays confronting degrowth scholarship. While this collection advocates and supports degrowth, it does not hold back from chastising degrowth scholarship for ignoring militant land struggles in europe and beyond. This includes identifying how ideas of anarchist organisation and mutual aid are appropriated while disregarding the combative practices attached to them. These essays highlight important issues and academic traps that tend to disadvantage radical political thought and the struggles that surround them.

Anarchic Agreements: A Field Guide to Collective Organizing
A new world is possible and not just in our hearts. Anarchic Agreements is a quintessential field guide for the revolution, answering the practical questions often left out of works of political theory and philosophy. How do leaderless groups organize? How might they create constitutions, balance power and write protocols? How do group cultures and institutions maintain coalitions? This urgent and inspiring how-to is the product of more than twenty years of research. Designed explicitly for everyday use, it contains lived examples and text from current horizontally organized constitutions. These documents illustrate the never-ending process of developing community and keeping collaborations alive in the fairest ways possible. Written by dedicated anarchist scholars and organizers, and based on the widely popular Anarchic Agreements pamphlet series, this book facilitates grassroots activism and provides methods to improve and streamline decision making. It is an inspiring celebration of the novel, complex, and flexible constitutions anarchists have created over time. This book shows how to realize another world, collectively without domination, while leaving the future open to infinite other possibilities.

Herbalism and State Violence. Practical Herbal Medicine for Surviving State Repressione
State violence is a brutal reality for vast numbers of people. It is an experience that is racialised, classed and gendered in its design and application. It intersects with nearly all forms of oppression. Plant medicines can be a tool for solidarity and resistance; they can practically support us to survive and they can help us recover from trauma.
From herbal care for handcuff injuries to healing from incarceration, this book looks at examples from around the world of herbal solidarity in practice. Writing from her lived experience of incarceration, political organising and of running the Solidarity Apothecary, Nicole Rose explores some of the many connections between herbalism and struggles for liberation. Through recipes, remedies and stories from the herbal frontlines, she invites us to connect with our allies in struggle – the plants – to rest, to heal and to continue the fight.

Nourishing Resistance: Stories of Food, Protest, and Mutual Aid
From the cooks who have fed rebels and revolutionaries to the collective kitchens set up after ecological disasters, food has long played a crucial role in resistance, protest, and mutual aid. Nourishing Resistance centers these everyday acts of culinary solidarity. Twenty-three contributors—cooks, farmers, writers, organizers, academics, and dreamers—write on queer potlucks, rebel ancestors, disability justice, Indigenous food sovereignty, and the fight against toxic diet culture, among many other topics. They recount bowls of biryani at a Delhi protest, fricasé de conejo on a Puerto Rican farm, and pay-as-you-want dishes in a collectively run Hong Kong restaurant. They chronicle the food distribution programs that emerged in Buenos Aires and New York City in the wake of COVID-19. They look to the past, revealing how women rice workers composed the song “Bella Ciao,” and the future, speculating on postcapitalist worlds that include both high-tech collective farms and herbs gathered beside highways.
Through essays, articles, poems, and stories, Nourishing Resistance argues that food is a central, intrinsic part of global struggles for autonomy and collective liberation.

Ecological Authoritarian Maneuvers
This booklet recognises the harmful politics and writing styles of Andreas Malm. Largely focusing on the book, How to Blow up a Pipeline, Alexander Dunlap highlights some concerning academic omissions and political manipulations directed at anarchists and anti-authoritarians. attacking the chaotic elements at the front lines, malm attempts to refashion “war communism” and, by extension, “red terror” into climate justice and ecological movements. Cutting through the unjustified fan fair, Dunlap highlights malm’s ecological authoritarian manoeuvers to prepare readers to bypass and confront this harmful trend.

Abolish Restaurants
Abolish Restaurants is an illustrated guide to the daily misery, stress, boredom, and alienation of restaurant work, as well as the ways in which restaurant workers fight against it.
Today it’s hard to imagine a world without restaurants. The conditions that create restaurants are everywhere and seem almost natural. We have trouble even thinking how people could feed each other in any other way (besides going to the grocery store of course). But restaurants as much as parliamentary democracy, the state, nationalism, or professional police are an invention of the modern capitalist world.

Hiper-Mediacions Zine
This fanzine is a conversation from the ball wich becomes even more of a ball and ends up becoming a sticky mass that sticks to your fingers. It's the conversation that shakes your hand. It's that conversation you've already had and whose end always ends at its origin. It is a conversation that goes backwards because statements become questions. It is a conversation between different people in a small space with music in the background and white neon lights. It is a conversation about meanings and desires. Spoken from those places in which a system throws us into. It's a conversation about paralysis. It is a conversation that could have happened.
